History
    
    Canvas Essentials was established in 2007, but my relationship with the marine canvas industry started 24 years ago, at age of 16, as an apprentice for Captain Nunzio's Marine Services in N.Y. 
    At that time, I worked on small boats, mostly for a local marina that sold Bayliners like hotcakes. Working many nights, sometimes after midnight, I learned to do my trade very efficiently out of necessity to allow myself some leisure time. As the years went on, I realized that I wanted more of a challenge than that "cookie cutter" canvas on the Bayliners had to offer me.
    So, at the age of 17, I ventured over to William J. Mills & Co. (a company that has a 100 year old reputation for quality). If you own a Boston Whaler, this name should be familiar to you, as they used to be the sole manufacturer of Boston Whaler factory canvas. 
      At Mills I learned more about precision due to the factory processing ( one small mistake can ruin several covers at a time) as well as learning the importance of making a top quality product. 
         

    All this experience was a prerequisite when working for the famous people in  the Hamptons.    
    After 18 very productive years at Wm. J. Mills, my friend Tim from Captain Nunzio's called me with some exciting news...they landed an account to do covers for a fleet of Azimut Yachts ( a very high-end Italian made yacht...starting at 43') and they needed my expertise. I jumped at the opportunity and challenge to work on a larger, more creative scale.
    Finally, in 2007 I decided to do canvas on my own, in Georgia, close to the ocean, between Hilton Head Island and Brunswick.
    So here we are, in Springfield, just outside of Savannah. We are licensed, insured, member of our local Chamber of Commerce and Marine Fabricators Association.
    As you can see, we have everything to bring the best marine canvas for your yacht: the location, the passion and the experience.
